How to use the palette from image

  1. Drop an image onto the box, paste it with Ctrl + V, or click “Choose an image”.
  2. Choose how many colors to extract (2–10).
  3. Select a swatch and click the image to swap in an exact pixel color.
  4. Open the palette in the generator to refine it, or copy the HEX codes.

How the colors are extracted

The image is sampled and clustered with k-means in the OKLab color space, which groups pixels the way human vision does. Each swatch is the average of a cluster, and its percentage is the share of the image it represents. Results are deterministic: the same image always gives the same palette.

Privacy

Your image is decoded and analysed locally by WebAssembly code in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for unreleased designs and personal photos.
