Color mixer

Blend two to five colors in any proportion and see the resulting color with its HEX code and name. Switch between perceptual mixing, additive light (RGB) and a paint-like subtractive blend to see how the same colors combine differently.

Blue + yellow, mixed 50/50.

How to use the color mixer

  1. Choose the colors you want to mix (up to five).
  2. Set how much of each color goes in.
  3. Pick a mixing model: perceptual, light (RGB) or paint-like.
  4. Copy the result or open its color page.

Why do blue and yellow make gray on screens but green in paint?

Screens mix light additively, so averaging blue and yellow light lands near gray. Paints mix subtractively — each pigment absorbs light — so blue and yellow paint make green. The “Paint-like” mode approximates that by multiplying colors in linear light.

Frequently asked questions

What color do red and blue make?

Mix them here: in paint-like mode red and blue give a deep purple; in light (RGB) mode you get a magenta-purple.

Can I mix more than two colors?

Yes, up to five, each with its own amount.
